Struggling with Mid-Game Strategy in "ZH88 Game

Hey everyone,

I've been playing ZH88 Game for a couple of weeks now and I'm totally hooked. The mechanics are really unique, but I've hit a bit of a wall when it comes to the mid-game.

I always seem to run low on resources right when I need to upgrade my units the most. Does anyone have any proven strategies for efficient resource management in this stage? I've tried a few different approaches I read on the official site, but I'm still struggling to find a consistent method.
